Welcome Home: Providence Players Are Encouraging Fans To Boo The Everliving Shit Out Of Ed Cooley Tomorrow
I can't wait for tomorrow. Ed Cooley coming back home after becoming the first turncoat in Big East history. That's just a fact. He left his home, a program he helped build back up to be the first coach ever to jump to another Big East job. You don't just waltz back into an arena and expect a welcome home sign. No. You left these fans high and dry, basically saying Georgetown is a better job and this is what you get.
I do love that Providence fans are so batshit crazy that Devin Carter has to remind them not to throw shit. Seems like common sense, but hey, better have all bases covered. Not to mention think about how the Cooley thing went down. Rumors of him basically quitting on the team in February knowing he was taking the Georgetown job. Rumors of him recruiting guys to Georgetown during that time.
The Dunk - I don't care what it's called now - is going to be one of the wildest places in America tomorrow. Their fans have been waiting for this moment since Cooley left. Smartly, they get it on a Saturday too. This is how the game should be. Let them get nice and lubed up on a Friday night into Saturday and just boo the everliving shit out of Cooley. You don't get a standing ovation on your first return. Express yourself - we know what that means. Double birds, a lot of fuck yous and a lot of boos.
PS: Enemy number 2 in Providence:
You pick what side you're on.
